Public Records Request Form

The Louisiana Used Motor Vehicle Commission (LUMVC) processes public records requests during regular business hours each business day. Public records requests are not processed on Saturdays, Sundays, or legal public holidays. Requests must be made in writing and can be made online or by using the LUMVC form for Public Records Requests. Responses are made to the person making the request. The Louisiana Public Records Law is at La. R.S. 44:1 et seq.

Please note not all public documents are available in electronic format. If the document(s) requested are not available electronically, we will make them available for inspection or by paper copy in accordance with the Public Records Law. Certified copies are not available via e-mail.
Fees:

Upon receipt of a request and review of records requested, the LUMVC will forward an invoice to the requestor. Fees are then paid by check or money order payable to the Louisiana Used Motor Vehicle Commission and mailed to:

RECORDS ARE UNAVAILABLE UNTIL FEES (Where Applicable) ARE RECEIVED. Payments cannot be made online at this time.

View the Public Record at LUMVC: There is no fee assessed to view the public record at the LUMVC office. You must make an appointment to view the records. Please call the LUMVC office at (225) 925-3870.
